The Davis Cup match between Pakistan and India is set for February 3–4, although it is subject to an appeal to the International Tennis Federation (ITF) by the All India Tennis Association (AITA) regarding security concerns. As per a report in My Khel, if the tribunal panel rules in favour of India, the two nations would play on a grass court for the first time in 60 years.

For the first time since 1964, the Indian Davis Cup team will visit Pakistan. The last time India played Pakistan in a neutral location, they triumphed 4-0.

The Davis Cup match between India and Pakistan will be held on February 3 and 4, 2024. India had appealed to the ITF Davis Cup Committee to move the match to a neutral location, but the request was denied. The Pakistan Sports Complex’s grass courts will host the games in Islamabad.

Nevertheless, Rohan Bopanna, a seasoned player, will not be available for the Islamabad match. In September, India defeated Morocco 4-1 in Bopanna’s final Davis Cup match in his career which was Bopanna’s last match at the tournament. On the other hand, Sumit Nagal and Sasikumar Mukund will also not be partaking in the event.

The team has picked young Digvijay Pratap Singh as their reserve player. Singh made his Davis Cup debut during India’s match against Morocco in Lucknow earlier this year. Meanwhile, The Indian team’s coach’s cap will be worn by Zeeshan Ali, and Rohit Rajpal will remain as the non-playing captain.
