The Indian cricket board took a bold step toward promoting women’s cricket in India. The new BCCI chairman Roger Binny announced at the beginning of the series that the tickets for the matches will be sold free of cost.
The initiative turned into a success as a huge audience gathered to watch the first three games. There were no empty seats in the crowd for the 2nd T20 which went onto the super overs. More than 48,000 spectators attended the 2nd T20 between India and Australia.
