India U17 vs Qatar U17 in two friendly matches have a look at the squad, football match schedule, date, fixtures and more 

The India U-17 men’s national football team will take on Qatar in two exhibition games this month.

The games will serve as practice for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup for Bibiano Fernandes’ team.

Saudi Arabia defeated the Indian men’s football team 2-1 in their final Group D match of the AFC Under-17 Asian Cup 2023 Qualifiers on last year at the Prince Saud Bin Jalawi Stadium in Al Khobar, but they still advanced to the continental championship as one of the six best runners-up across all groups.

As part of their preparations for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup, the India U-17 Football Team will face Qatar U-17 in two friendlies on February 25 and 28 in Qatar.

The U-17 boys have been practising in Goa since November under the direction of Bibiano Fernandes after qualifying for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup last year. Last month, the Blue Colts also participated in friendlies against the U-20 teams from the UAE and Uzbekistan.

Here is the list 23-member squad which has been announced:

  • Forwards: Aman, Thanglalsoun Gangte, Shashwat Panwar, Gogocha Chungkham
  • Coach: Bibiano Fernandes

Blue Colts’ form

The UAE U-20 National Team defeated the India U-17 football team 0-1 in a hard-fought match on January 16 at the Theyeb Awana Stadium in Dubai.

In a game performed behind closed doors, Mohamed Ali Khaled of the UAE scored the only goal.

After defeating Uzbekistan in the opening match 2-0, the India U-17 National Team suffered a 3-0 loss against them in the Tilak Maidan.

While Oybek Urmojonov, Kuvonchbek Abraev, and Abdulkhamid Turunboe scored for Uzbekistan in their victory, Vanlalpeka Guite and Lalpekhlua scored for India.
