India Football Qualifier Match: After a disappointing pair of International friendlies in March, India travels to face Qatar in FIFA World Cup Qualification on June 3

India are in action for their first FIFA World Cup Qualification match since 2019 as they travel to Qatar on June 3. After a pair of International Friendlies in March 2021, India would like to get to their morale up by battling it out against the highly-speedy and energetic side of Qatar with whom they drew 0-0 in September, 2019.

India are already on the verge of falling out of a Qualifying spot from the 2022 FIFA World Cup. They have scored only 3 points form 5 games in their group and are currently placed fourth.

India Football Qualifier Match: How is the Indian Football Team allowed to travel to Qatar?

Although India has shown great upward trajectory in the FIFA World Rankings, to be able to mount up to the 58th spot, yet they have been outdone by other Gulf Teams in the past. While Qatar have been in spectacular form as well, having won marginally against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan.

The remaining three matches are against Qatar on June 3, Bangladesh on June 7 and Afghanistan on June 1, which are pivotal for Asian Cup qualification.

What to Expect from India vs Qatar on June 3, 2021?

Due to the lack of preparation and poor form, the Indian football team will need a miracle to get a result from this one. From a realistic standpoint, Qatar should exact their revenge in compelling fashion. They’re likely to dominate the Blue Tigers and pick up another big win in the World Cup Qualifiers.
