Inclement Southampton Weather Looms For WTC Final 2021 With Rain Likely

The Hampshire Bowl in Southampton will be hosting the of the inaugural edition of the WTC final 2021 India vs New Zealand. How will the Southampton weather be in the WTC final?

The conditions are going to play a big part in the outcome of the game as the top two ranked sides in the world will play for the ultimate price when they’ll square off against each other at the Hampshire bowl.

Southampton Weather for WTC Final

The bad news in the store for the fans in terms of the weather is the rain is likely to play the spoilsport throughout the course of the five-day game. Rain interruptions are predicted which certainly is not a good sign before the start of the game.

According to the Weather Channel and AccuWeather, Southampton will see a thunderstorm on June 17 and 18 with 80% chances of rain. There has also been a yellow warning issued for a thunderstorm on both days.

The Southampton weather, in general, is predicted to remain sunny with the temperature hovering between 17 and 20 degrees Celsius in the daytime during the WTC final. But there could be short bursts of rain too, especially on the opening day, day 3 and 4.

Damp ground conditions can also be expected. The forecast is for long heavy showers on June 17, just a day before the big final. Overcast conditions and moisture certainly will help the seam bowlers from both teams.

India vs New Zealand Tickets

Earlier Hampshire County Club head Rod Bransgrove informed that the World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and New Zealand in Southampton will be played in the presence of 4,000 spectators. The spectators would love to see a full-fledged Test match without any kind of interruptions.

In case if time is lost due to rain then also according to the rules of the ICC for the WTC final will make up for the lost time. The apex board has allocated a reserve day. Which will be used to make up for any lost time during the regular days of the final.

The reserve day has been scheduled to ensure five full days of play. It will only be used only if lost playing time cannot be recovered through the normal provisions for each day. There will be no additional day’s play if a result is not achieved after five full days of play. The match will be declared a draw in such a scenario.
