James Anderson was least perturbed by the blood dripping down his pants as he continued bowling despite bleeding at The Oval
Over the last string of years, James Anderson has nailed his spot in the folklore of test cricket. One of the greatest servants the game has seen, the English speedster has been a consummate professional, a player who has refused to let his tired legs effect his performances.
However, with age catching up with him, Anderson has often struggled to mantain the same performances in a lengthy series. Fatigue has factored in, in the tailend of his career with the quick feeling the brunt of the workload during the ongoing fourth test match at the Oval between England and India.
Competing in his fourth successive test match, Anderson wasn’t at his sumptuous best on day one of the matchup. He was wayward in his opening spell, all over the pitch with him eventually taken off with Chris Woakes replacing him.

However, with a ripper to send back Cheteshwar Pujara, Anderson showed why he’s such an ominous bowler even when he’s not functioning at his 100%. The quick was once again handed over the ball in the second session as Ajinkya Rahane and Virat Kohli tried to salvage the Indian innings and get the visitors’ house in order.
A battered Anderson though ended up hitting the ground as he fell whilst bowling and went onto cut himself with something on the pitch. It lead to him bleeding profoundly from the knee area with visuals emanating of his pants covered in blood.

However, Anderson showed why he’s the epitome of work ethic as he continued to bowl without receiving any medical treatment.
