Referee Suyash Mehta had called LaMelo Ball for a technical foul, something clearly didn’t impress Ball
With things not swinging his or his side’s way during the Hornets vs Bulls game, current rookie of the year, LaMelo Ball was left seething when referee Suyash Mehta decided to call a technical foul against him.
The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of the Hornets’ 113-119 defeat while Ball drove to the basket. He was however met at the rim by Zach LaVine as he went onto miss his layup with Ball adamant that there had been wrongful contact which saw him miss his attempt.
LaMelo Ball Disgruntled With NBA Referee Suyash Mehta During Hornets vs Bulls
Unable to persuade Mehta to give the call his way, LaMelo went onto hit the court as he bellowed his angst at the referee which went onto earn him a technical foul. Ball was then heard telling Mehta that he would teach him how to referee game once he had retired by becoming a referee himself.
“Imma be a ref when I’m done hooping and show y’all how to ref,” LaMelo was heard chirping at Mehta.
Did LaMelo just tell a referee: "Imma be a ref when I‘m done hooping and show y‘all how to ref" after getting a no call? 💀

LaMelo meanwhile himself had a decent outing with him finishing with a double-double of 18 points and 13 assists, one which unfortunately failed to get his side past the finishing line with his older brother Lonzo getting the better of him. LaMelo did manage to outdo him for jokes on the night though.
The Hornets did manage to salvage some pride on the night as they took home the fourth quarter 34-29 after having lost the previous two. Both the sides will next be taking on each other in February with LaMelo bound to have largened his plethora of jokes by then.
