Daniel Bryan has reportedly signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) promotion and may debut in September. Read on to know how Booker T reacted
Bryan was last in action on 30th April when he lost to Roman Reigns in a Championship vs. Career match on Smackdown. His contract had reportedly expired on 4th May and WWE had no licensing or merchandising plans for him. It didn’t take long for rumors about his AEW debut to begin. However, Bodyslam’s recent report has confirmed Bryan’s AEW debut.
Daniel Bryan Is “Locked In” To AEW With His New Contract
This Wednesday, Cassidy Haynes from Bodyslam reported that he had spoken to a source who told him that AEW had Bryan “locked in.” He has 100% signed a contract with WWE’s rival promotion. The four-time WWE Champion had put forward some conditions before signing. These included a more relaxed schedule for comparable money, freedom to wrestle in Japan, and some creative control over his character.
Though AEW hasn’t confirmed anything yet, a separate report stated that he might show-up at the promotion’s big Dynamite: Grand Slam show in New York City on 22nd September.

“I’m like Nate Diaz, I’m not surprised,” Booker T Reacts To Daniel Bryan’s Deal With AEW
Booker T talked about Daniel Bryan’s AEW move on The Hall of Fame Podcast, stating he wasn’t surprised at all. He acknowledged Bryan’s hard work and stated that he had every right to leave WWE if he wasn’t happy. “It was different back then, it’s a totally different time now with these young guys and the way they see this business,” he remarked.
Booker T feels that the Grand Slam Champion will finally take control of his creatives and have the matches he always wanted to have. Connecting this with why he began Reality of Wrestling, he said that’s what people want to do these days. They want to create their own stories and “AEW has given a lot of these guys a chance to do their own thing.”
