The DP World ILT20 league has made sure that the lessons learned from the first season are expanded upon with inventiveness in the second edition of the league, which gets underway this Friday at the Sharjah International Stadium with the reigning champions Gulf Giants taking on Sharjah Warriors.
ILT20 season 2 2024 teams, coaches, captains list, squad players list
ILT20 season 2 will feature top T20 players from around the globe in addition to stars and up-and-coming players from the United Arab Emirates. Each team has a mix of local and international talent on their roster, which was assembled during the player draft last year.
The Super Sub and Wild Cards have been added to the ILT20 league for this edition, drawing inspiration from the richest franchise league in the world; the Indian Premier League (IPL).
ILT20 season 2 will follow the same format as the first, with six teams competing twice in a round-robin phase. The top four teams advance to the playoffs, where the victor is determined. The qualifying round will be followed by the eliminator, qualifier 2, and final under the IPL format for the playoffs. There will be 34 games played at three distinct locations in the UAE’s three largest cities: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai.
