Ilie Nastase is hardly a household name, although he was a very good tennis player throughout the 1970s but he’s now in the limelight owing to his insatiable appetite for sex and women
He won the US Open in 1972 and the French Open the previous year. For a total of 64 singles championships and 45 doubles titles.
Ilie was dubbed the “first tennis playboy” because he claimed in his memoirs he has slept with over 2,500 women, often two at a time.

When asked about sexual encounters, the tennis legend acknowledged having indulged in as much as he could get.
“Oh Yes! “I didn’t make it to three,” he said to the newspaper. “Regrettably, my limit was only two.” I do want to play somebody, but if the scenario arises, you might not want to pass it up. Perhaps I’m insane, but I’m not dumb!”
Năstase started his professional in 1966, traveling throughout the world fighting against Ion iliac. They competed in the Davis Cup for Romania, finishing second in 1969, 1971, and 1972.
Năstase clinched his debut singles competition on April 16, 1967, at Cannes. His first victory over elite players came in Stockholm in 1969, when he overcame Tony Roche then Stan Smith.

From 23 August 1973 to 2 June 1974, he was rated world No. 1 in solo which was the first guy to occupy the top spot in the computerized ATP standings. Năstase is one of just ten players in history to have won more than 100 ATP titles, 64 in pairs and 45 in combinations.
Năstase gained 7 major championships, including two in solo, three in men’s pairs, and two in a double match. He also won 4 Masters Grand Prix year-end championships and seven Grand Prix Super Series championships (1970-73), the forerunners of the present Masters 1000. In 1972, he became the first world-class athlete to sign an advertisement agreement with Nike. In the 1980s, Năstase published many novels in French and was voted into the Global Tennis Hall of Fame in 1991.
