2023 ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup India vs England final result, scores, winner, & best performers
After a convincing seven-wicket win over England in Potchefstroom on Sunday, India became the first-ever ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup champions. The key to India’s march to victory was again another superb use of the ball, with Titas Sadhu setting the tone and the spinners turning in yet another telling effort when it mattered.
As England sank to 22 for 4, and then 68 all out in 17.1 overs, Mannat Kashyap, Verma, & Sonam Yadav each claimed a wicket. Despite their free-scoring streak in the competition, only Ryana Macdonald-Gay, Niamh Holland, & Sophia Smale managed double-digit score against India. After dismissing Verma and Shweta Sehrawat within the first four overs, England’s prospects for more miraculous bowling performances were increased. However, the solid partnership between Soumya Tiwari and Trisha guided India towards victory as they celebrated winning the inaugural edition of this new competition.
