The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the prize money for the winner of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, along with the total prize pool and other event details
This year, the teams will battle it out in Australia from the 16th of October till the 13th of November.

This year’s hosts, Australia are the defending champions of the T20 World. Last year, the team defeated New Zealand by eight wickets in a one-sided final in Dubai.
T20 World Cup 2022 Prize Money And Total Prize Pool
This year, the ICC confirmed in their announcement that the T20 World Cup 2022 winners will receive a prize money of $1.6 million. The runners-up team will receive $800,000.
On the other hand, the two losing semi-finalists will get $400,000 each. The eight teams who bow out of the tournament at the Super 12 stage will receive $70,000 each.
Similar to last year, the winners of each Super 12 match will also win $40,000 each. Moreover, the tournament will feature the first round before the Super 12 round, where eight teams will compete for four Super 12 spots.
Each winner in the first will win a $40,000 prize money. The other four teams that get knocked out in the first round will also get $40,000 each.
The total prize pool for this year’s ICC event will be $5,600,000.

Super 12 And Round 1 teams
The T20 World Cup 2022 will also follow the super 12 format, and eight sides have already directly qualified. The eight teams are Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa.
From the eight teams taking part in the first round, Namibia, Sri Lanka, Netherlands, and UAE are in Group A, while West Indies, Scotland, Ireland and Zimbabwe are in Group B. The winners and runners-up of the first round will make it to the Super 12 round.
For the Super 12 stage, Afghanistan, Australia, England, and New Zealand are placed in Group 1. On the other hand, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and South Africa are placed in Group 2.
The top two teams from each group in the Super 12 round will qualify for the next round – the knockouts round.
Finals Dates And Venues
The first semi-final will take place at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on November 9. The second semi-final will take place on November 10 at the Adelaide Oval.
And finally, the grand finale of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on November 13.
