Notably, with the tournament set to take place away from England and the Indian subcontinent, there are fewer chances of weather conditions being hostile.
However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) still needs to ensure perfect provisions to bring out the best possible outcomes during every match throughout the tournament.
2024 T20 Cricket World Cup reserve days for group stage and Super 8 games
Earlier this year, in March, the ICC confirmed reserve days for the knockout games during in its annual board meetings. The ICC made the confirmation while announcing the implementation of the stop-clock rule. However, they did not make announcements regarding reserve days for the group stage and Super 8 games. Moreover, the ICC has not yet announced the dates for the reserve days.
In the event of matches getting abandoned due to rain or external factors, both teams will each share a point. Meanwhile, for matches that experience delays due to rain before or during the match, the teams will compete with reduced overs using the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method. As for the group stage games, the team batting second should complete a minimum of five overs to constitute a game, while it will increase to a minimum of ten overs during the knockout phase.
