ICC T20 Cricket World Cup 2021 Schedule Released, Know When Is India vs Pakistan

The T20 World Cup was to be played in 2020 but due to the pandemic ICC postponed it to 2021, the schedule of which is out now including the date of India vs Pakistan

The tournament was planned to be staged in India, it was shifted to the UAE considering the potential third wave in India.

The ICC recently published the schedule of the tournament and all the other credentials which we at The SportsGrail would help you with.

About The Tournament And Format

The tournament is to be played in 2 rounds and 16 teams in total with 2 teams making their debut entry into the tournament ( Papua New Guinea and Namibia). The first round will commence from 17th October up till 23rd October. Then starts round 2 or the Super 12 which will start from 24th October  till 8th November followed by the playoffs on 10th November (Semi Final 1), 11th November ( Semi Final-2), and the final to be played on 14th November

Round 1

The teams in round 1 are divided into 2 groups. Teams in group A are- Ireland, Netherlands, Namibia, and Sri Lanka, whereas teams in group B are- Oman, Papua New Guinea, Bangladesh, and Scotland.  The top 2 teams in each group will qualify for the second round I.e Super 12.

Super 12

The super 12 is also divided into 2 pools. 

Pool 1 containing-  Australia, South Africa, England, Windies, A1 ( First team qualifying from group A in round 1), and B2 ( Second team qualifying from group B in round 1)

Pool 2 contains- India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, New Zealand, A2 (the Second team qualifying from group A in round 1), and A1 (The first team qualifying from group B in round 1). The top 2 teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs.

The event, which will feature 45 matches, will be broadcast on Star Sports and live-streamed in numerous languages on Disney+ Hotstar. The timings for the day matches are 14:00 IST ( 8:30 GMT, 18:30 ACT, 20:30 NZST) and evening matches are 18:00 IST (12:30 GMT, 22:30 ACT, 00:30 NZST).
