As the first set of nominees are announced, looking at the ICC Awards 2023 voting details
The 2023 nominations for the Men’s T20I, Women’s T20I, and Men’s and Women’s Emerging Cricketer of the Year were revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, January 3.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) presents an annual set of sports awards for international cricket that honour and recognise the top players from the preceding 12 months. In 2004, the Cricket Council of India (ICC) introduced the awards.
For sponsorship purposes, the awards were referred to as the LG ICC Awards from 2009 to 2014. Having won eight times, including Player of the Decade, Virat Kohli is the most frequent winner.
In the T20I divisions, eight different countries are represented. In the men’s division, last year’s winner Suryakumar Yadav is nominated again, and among the female hopefuls is previous Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy winner Ellyse Perry. She is a previous two-time ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year winner (2019 and 2017) of the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy.
With 733 runs from 17 innings at an average of 48.86 and a strike rate of 155.95, the 33-year-old Indian, who took home the award in 2022, dominated the shortest format in 2023. India defeated Sri Lanka by 91 runs thanks to a century from Suryakumar, which was the second-fastest century for the team behind Rohit Sharma’s 35-ball effort in the 2017 match.
ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup and ICC Women’s T20 World Cup stars are among the contenders for the Emerging Awards in 2023. Mark Chapman of New Zealand, Alpesh Ramjani of Uganda, and Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe are the other three nominees.
The other contenders for the award are Jaiswal, Gerald Coetzee, the pace wonder from South Africa, Dilshan Madushanka, the standout batsman from New Zealand, and Rachin Ravindra.
Australia’s Phoebe Litchfield, England’s Lauren Bell, Scotland’s Darcey Carter, and Bangladesh’s Marufa Akter are the nominees for Emerging Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
