IAS Pooja Singhal hails from Dehradun, Uttrakhand, India. She pursued a degree in MBA in the subject of Business Management at Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University, Uttrakhand. Singhal, a 2000 batch IAS officer who was one of the sharpest minds, cleared IAS exam at the age 21 in her first attempt but her rank is not known.

Pooja Singhal was a part of an INR16 crore scam of the MNREGA during her tenure as the Deputy Commissioner in the district Khunti district.
She became a part of this controversy on the 6th of May when ED raided her house and found Rs. 19.31 crore cash at her property which is based in Ranchi. In the case which was filed against Pooja, she was alleged of allowing the illegal operation of Pachadumar sand ghat which was carried out by the contractors selected by her without taking permission from the National Board of the Wildlife. Recently properties worth INR 88.77 crore had been found linked to this IAS. These properties include a hospital as well.
