Athar Aamir Khan, a municipal commissioner in Srinagar, shared a photo of himself and his future bride on Instagram. He used the hashtag “engagement” in the image’s caption.
The news was released a few months after his ex-wife Tina Dabi married IAS official Dr. Pradeep Gawande in a secret ceremony in Jaipur, where they are both stationed.

Who Is Athar Aamir Khan?
Athar Aamir Khan is a famous IAS officer who has recently been in news for getting re-married to Dr. Mehreen Qazi.
On September 5, 1992, he was born in Devipora, Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Mohammad Shafi Khan, his father, is a teacher at a local school in Anantnag. He is the eldest of four siblings and has 1 younger brother and two younger sisters. He is currently 29 years old.
Athar Aamir Khan did his schooling at multiple schools including Evergreen Public School, Iqbal Memorial Institute, Biscoe School and Tyndale Biscoe School. He later did B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
He is the second Kashmiri to top in the UPSC exam. He received 1018 out of 2025 points and finished second in the UPSC test in 2016. At the National Children’s Science Congress in 2007, he was given the Best Young Scientist prize.
Athar Aamir Khan was first married to Tina Dabi, who received the top rank in the UPSC in 2016. The religious ceremonies for this couple’s marriage took place on April 7, 2018, after they were legally married in court on March 20. But in 2021, they both divorced.
He just got engaged to a renowned doctor and social media influencer Dr. Mehreen Qazi.
His Career
Before becoming an IAS officer, he joined Indian railways in 2015 but left it in 2016 because he cracked the UPSC exam.
Athar Aamir Khan is an IAS Officer of the 2016 batch. In the beginning, he joined the service of IAS as an Assistant Collector & Magistrate in Jaipur. After this, he was assigned to the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India as an Assistant Secretary in 2019.
He was later assigned to the post of Sub Divisional Magistrate in the same city as his ex-wife Tina Dabi, Bhilwara in the state of Rajasthan. He was afterwards appointed CEO of Zila Parishad and sent to Jaipur.
Athar Amir Khan, however, is presently located in Srinagar after being transferred from the Rajasthan cadre to Jammu & Kashmir. In addition to serving as CEO of Srinagar Smart City Limited, he is now a Commissioner for the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
