Hungarian Darts Trophy 2022 Final Day Results, Fixtures And Score
Cullen, the Premier League’s runner-up and 2022 Masters champion, took home the £25,000 top prize, securing his third victory on the European Tour and his first victory since the 2020 International Darts Open. To continue his challenge, Cullen had fought his way past Martin Lukeman in the second round on Saturday and Jim Williams in the third round on Sunday afternoon. He then defeated Rusty-Jake Rodriguez 6-4 in the quarterfinals and outlasted Dave Chisnall’s three missed match darts in their semifinal before launching a 12-darter to win 7-6.
The final was where Cullen put on his most commanding performance, winning the first five legs without opposition and twice punishing O’Connor for missing doubles. He also posted a 13-dart leg, two 14-darters, and a 100 finish. O’Connor answered quickly with a double ten, followed by a scintillating 12-darter that finished with a 124, but five more missed doubles in the following leg allowed Cullen to attain 6-2 lead. After making 96 with an 11-darter, the World Series star moved closer to victory and then, four more misses from the previous World Cup finalist allowed Cullen to win the match 8-2.
