Hull City new next manager odds and favorites candidates names list for 2024-2025 season

Liam Rosenior has been dismissed from his role as Hull City’s head coach after the team narrowly missed securing a spot in the Championship playoffs with the new next manager odds out

For the unversed, Hull City concluded the season in 7th place, just three points shy of sixth-place Norwich, who are set to face Leeds United in the playoff semi-final.

Despite the disappointment, Rosenior’s leadership over his 18-month tenure had garnered significant praise. In his initial season, Rosenior steered Hull away from relegation, achieving a 15th place finish.

Throughout this current season, he kept the team within striking distance of the playoff spots, often hovering around the top six. The Tigers showed considerable improvement, but ultimately fell short of their playoff aspirations.

Rosenior views the season, his first full one in charge, as a success given the progress made on and off the field. Hull City’s seventh-place finish was three points shy of the playoffs, a marked improvement from last season’s 15th-place showing.

Additionally, Rosenior was among the nominees for the Championship Manager of the Season at the 2024 EFL Awards.

However, following the end of the season, Hull City decided it was time for a change, announcing Rosenior’s sacking on May 7, 2024, just days after the final game of the campaign.

Hull City Release Statement

In an official statement, Hull City said, “We have parted ways with Head Coach, Liam Rosenior, with immediate effect.”

Chairman and owner Acun Ilıcalı expressed, “This has been the hardest decision I’ve had to make as chairman of this fantastic football club. Regardless of personal feelings, it’s critical to maintain focus on the club’s long-term goals.

“Since Liam’s arrival, we’ve had a collaborative working relationship and have seen undeniable progress during his tenure. He will always be part of the Hull City family, and I thank him for his dedication.”

Liam Rosenior’s Tenure

Rosenior’s tenure saw him manage 78 games, with 27 wins, 28 draws, and 23 losses, averaging 1.4 points per game. His efforts were hampered by injuries, notably the loss of key forward Liam Delap, who was sidelined in January with a knee injury.

Rosenior noted the inexperience of his squad in his final interview, acknowledging that their youthful exuberance could sometimes be a double-edged sword.

Odds for Hull City’s New Managerial Position

Following Rosenior’s departure, speculation about his replacement has begun, with the betting odds highlighting Steve Cooper, Danny Röhl, and Will Still among the frontrunners for the Hull City head coach position.
