The clash between PV Sindhu and Akane Yamaguchi was the duo’s fourth meeting of the year with the three game thriller worthy of the stature of the matchup. Sindhu who had defeated the Japanese at the All England Open and the Tokyo Olympics quarter-finals managed to ease her way to the summit clash as she downed her opponent who had won when the two had last met at the Indonesia Masters semi-finals.
Sindhu’s match on Sunday will be the first time she’ll be appearing in a final since the Swiss Open earlier this year in March.
