The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) installed a new, cold-wave-resistant grass type on the Dharamshala outfield for the fifth and final India versus England Test.
The HPCA took this action after receiving backlash over moving one of the Tests against Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy last season.

According to AccuWeather’s weather forecasts, snowfall is possible if the temperature drops below zero. The weather on March 7, Day 1 of the Fifth Test, is predicted to be cloudy with a 58% chance of precipitation in the morning.
Moreover, there is a chance of precipitation of over 50% for the first two days of the Test. It is consequently anticipated that any forced breaks during the game will be spoilsport, based on the current weather report.
