Fans have begun a petition of changing Farhad Samji, who is reportedly directing the movie Hera Pheri part 3.

Hera Pheri 3 is now finally happening with its original trio. After a lot of back and forth, co-actors Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal are confirmed to reprise their iconic roles and the shoot is all set to start this year. While all fans are really thrilled to get the desired star cast, several are unhappy about the choice of a director who is Farhad Samji.

A petition on advocacy handle Change.org is titled, ‘Replace Farhad Samji as a director for Phir Hera Pheri 3’. The description reads, “Clearly as the title suggests, we do not want Farhad Samji directing a classic movie franchise like Hera Pheri. His track record or earlier movies which are directed and not satisfying for which movie Phir Hera Pheri needs a replacement.”

The petition has crossed over a hundred signatures in just seven hours. Elaborating upon the reason to sign a petition, one fan has stated, “I want to see a better film, Farhad Samji is least equipped for that.” Another one added, “Seeing his last directed films I think Hera Pheri part 3 needs to be directed by a few well-experienced directors who are masters in making such comedy films like Priyadarshin sir.”

The original Hera Pheri which was released in early 2000 has been directed by Priyadarshan. The cult classic comedy starred Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, and Tabu, and was a hit at the box office.

Its 2006 sequel named Phir Hera Pheri was directed by Neeraj Vora and saw the addition of the actress Bipasha Basu and Rimi Sen to the cast while Tabu did not return again. The third part was basically floated years ago with Vora returning to direct but was shelved soon.

For a brief time, Akshay withdrew from projects, and reports have suggested Kartik Aaryan was to replace him. However, earlier this month, Akshay met other co-stars and the producer of the film and came back on board.
