Mason Greenwood possible new salary has been made public as he looks to make a big change in his career and move to China
The star, who was born in Bradford, is thinking about moving to China to keep playing if United fires him over the sex attack claims.
How much will Mason Greenwood earn in China in salary as he seeks transfer from Manchester United in his latest news
If that transfer went through, he could make up to £2.7m a year, which is the most foreign players can make in the Chinese Super League according to a salary cap that the country’s FA put in place last March.
For a whole season, this comes out to about £50,000 per week. Charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control were dropped earlier this month against Greenwood, who is 21 years old. But he is still not allowed to play while the club looks into what happened.
If the people in charge at Old Trafford do decide to fire Greenwood, his financial situation is likely to get worse, even if he makes money in China. Marcus Rashford, on the other hand, is rumoured to be re-signing with the club for up to £300,000 a week.
Recently Nike dropped Greenwood as a sponsor
It comes after Nike, a big sponsor, dropped Greenwood even though the accusations against him were proven to be false.
David Winnie, a former professional football player and the head of the sports law department at Blaser Mills solicitors, says that if the striker loses his sponsors, he could lose “millions” of dollars in potential earnings.
