But Pele wasn’t as loyal to those who were closest to him, like his wives. Pele admits to cheating on his wives in the Netflix movie about his life and victory at the 1970 World Cup. The Brazilian footballer, who has been married three times, says he had so many affairs that he didn’t even know how many kids he had.

When he was at the top of his game, the world-famous footballer slept with some of the women who loved him. When asked if it was hard to stay true, Pele says that it was. He has had a few affairs, and some of them led to kids. But he found out about them after the fact.

He adds that his first wife and his first girlfriend both knew. Pele got married to Rosemeri dos Reis Cholbi in February 1966, but he says he was “too young” at the time.

Five of his children — Kelly, 54, Edinho, 50, Jennifer, 42, and twins Joshua and Celeste, 24 — came from his first two marriages.

Pele says that being his wife was hard, and he also says that business deals started coming up that had nothing to do with football. This meant that he travelled around the world more to work on projects outside of the field than to play in other countries.

They had three children, Kelly, Jennifer, and Edinho, but their marriage didn’t last. In 1982, they split up. Pele had an affair with his housekeeper Anizia Machado in 1964, and she gave birth to his daughter Sandra Machado.

But Sandra fought for years to get Pele to recognise her as her daughter. Pele refused to take DNA tests, so Sandra wrote a book called “The Daughter Pele Never Wanted.” Sandra filed a lawsuit to force Pele to recognise her. In 1993, DNA evidence showed that she was his biological daughter, so the courts agreed.

But Pele still wouldn’t talk to Sandra or her two kids, and he didn’t go to her funeral when she died tragically at just 42 years old in 2006. The former footballer had another daughter with journalist Lenita Kurtz in 1968. Her name is Flávia Kurtz, and he does know her.

Assria Lemos Seixas, a psychologist and gospel singer, was Pele’s second wife. Their twins, Joshua and Celeste, were born to her. They got married in 1994, but in 2008 they split up. Marcia Aoki, his third wife, and he met for the first time in the mid-1980s in New York. They ran into each other again in 2008 and started dating two years later.

Pele married the Japanese-Brazilian woman, who is 32 years younger than him, in July 2016, and they are still together.
