On Tuesday in Saitama, Japan, Kenshiro Teraji defeated Hiroto Kyoguchi by way of seventh-round knockout in a fight for the unification of the junior flyweight titles. Following this win, Kenshiro Teraji has now become unified champion of division holding WBA & WBC world titles.

As of now, official purse details haven’t been revealed but following his stunning KO win, it is anticipated that Kenshiro Teraji will bag lion share of the purse. Following his title win, Teraji will surely feature in some big fights, which will also mean much bigger purse payout.

Hiroto Kyoguchi vs Kenshiro Teraji Match Events & How it Unfolded?
WBC champion Teraji controlled the fight’s tempo from opening bell and while Teraji delivered stunning combinations to the body in round one, Kyoguchi kept up his high guard in an effort to discover any weaknesses in his opponent. Starting in second-round, Teraji tried to blow past Kyoguchi’s defense, and he succeeded as Kyoguchi started to feel impact of countless punches thrown by Teraji.
As the fight’s tempo picked up, Kyoguchi started to appear more out of his element. In the fifth round, a right hand from Teraji felled him, but Kyoguchi recovered and landed few strong blows of his own. Even though round six was much quieter than the previous rounds, Teraji maintained composure and was able to neutralize any threat posed by jabs of Kyoguchi. However, Kyoguchi’s gallant effort came to an end owing to another right-handed punch from Teraji, which sent Kygouchi sprawling toward the ropes and caused the referee to stop the fight. Following this win, Kenshiro Teraji has managed to clinch WBA (Super) Junior Flyweight title and retain his own WBC title.

Kenshiro Teraji, who now holds WBC & WBA junior flyweight belts, will aim to become undisputed champion, and one of his potential opponents in the future, WBO junior flyweight champion Johnathan Gonzalez, won earlier on the card. Gonzalez was able to defeat bright Japanese contender Shokichi Iwata, who posed difficult issues to the incumbent champion throughout this contest.
