Siddharth Sharma, a cricket player for Himachal Pradesh, passed away at the age of 28 on January 12 at approximately 9:00 p.m. while traveling to Gujarat with his squad for the Ranji Trophy. The news of his death was announced by the office of the Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister.

Himachal Pradesh pacer Sidharth Sharma passed away in a private hospital in Vadodara late on Thursday and the 28-year-old, who had been on the ventilator for the past two weeks, succumbed to multi-organ failure. He was airlifted to Chandigarh and later cremated in his hometown which is in Una.

The chief minister’s office penned an official note, saying,
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed deep grief over the demise of Siddharth Sharma, a member of Himachal’s Vijay Hazare Trophy-winning cricket team and the state’s star fast bowler. The Chief Minister has expressed his deepest condolences with the bereaved families.
The death of the 28-year-old Himachal seamer has been a big blow to the sport and has shocked the whole cricketing community.
He was a member of the Himachal Pradesh team and had traveled to Gujarat with colleagues for a planned Ranji Trophy match. However, he was unable to enter the field due to his terrible condition.

Siddharth Sharma was a well-known Indian cricketer. He has been in the news because he passed away recently.
He was born on October 23, 1994, in Una, Himachal Pradesh, India.
He died on January 12, 2023, in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. At the time of his death, he was 28 years old.
His Career
Siddharth Sharma’s domestic career lasted for a relatively brief time. On November 1, 2017, he made his first-class debut against Himachal Pradesh in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy.
He played one T20 match, six first-class matches, and the same amount of List A matches for Himachal Pradesh over a five-year span. He pulled up a five-wicket haul in the first innings and a few more in the second during his last match, which was against Bengal at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in December last year.
Since making his first-class debut for Himachal in the 2017–18 season, Siddharth Sharma has taken 25 wickets in Ranji Trophy matches. He took eight wickets in six games while competing in his debut List-A match at the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021–22 competition. He hadn’t played in the IPL.
Cause of death of Siddharth Sharma
He died due to breathing issues. His funeral ceremonies were conducted on Friday in Nangal, Punjab.
