Hikaru “GMHikaru” Nakamura, a popular chess streamer, has been banned from Twitch for an unknown reason, leaving fans to speculate, know his ranking and net worth
Hikaru “GMHikaru” Nakamura was crowned the United States Chess Federation’s youngest Grand Master in 2003, establishing him as one of the world’s most skilled chess players. Using his unique abilities, he began streaming himself playing chess on Twitch, which eventually led to him hosting a platform-wide Twitch match with some of the biggest streamers taking part.
However, it appears that he will have to take a break from streaming because he has been temporarily banned from Twitch, as announced by the automated Twitter account Streamerbans. Some fans were taken aback by the news.
Why Was Hikaru “GMHikaru” Nakamura Banned From Twitch
Many fans seemed to all point to one possible reason for his ban, which was a moment 6 days ago when Hikaru was watching Dr DisRespect’s chess match against DrLupo. While watching a chess match is not a violation of Twitch’s terms of service, watching Dr Disrespect, who is banned from Twitch, may be.
While this has yet to be confirmed, the ban comes just hours after the popular Spanish-speaking streamer TheGrefg was banned, which fans claim was due to the stream featuring a banned Twitch streamer.
With these two events occurring so close together, it’s difficult not to assume that both bans were imposed for similar reasons. However, until a definitive answer is provided, fans will continue to speculate and try to figure out.
