The claim made by ex-Jaguars kicker Josh Lambo looked to be the final straw for Urban Meyer with him fired shortly afterwards
How Urban Meyer managed to hang onto his job as long as he did at the Jaguars is as big a mystery as Meyer himself. Even if one keeps at bay his contentious controversies away from the game, Meyer wasn’t working any wonders on the field as one, someone who was causing more harm than good to his side.
Reposing faith in him even after he had decided to go around fingering Cayman Nebraska’s ass in a bar, the Jaguars decided they have finally seen enough of Meyer only months after he was handed a lucrative contract by the side.
Ex-Jaguars Kicker Josh Lambo Talks About Abuse By Urban Meyer Shortly Before The Coach Was Fired
Starting the year 2-11 to hold the worst record in the NFL, Meyer was finally wielded the axe over by today. News of his sacking came only hours after Jaguars ex-kicker Josh Lambo had accused the 57 year old of belittling him and kicking him in the legs.
Lambo went onto detail how he has been mistreated during an interview with Tampa Bay Times with him going onto detail how he was not only verbally abused by the coach but physically as well.
“I’m in a lunge position. Left leg forward, right leg back. Urban Meyer, while I’m in that stretch position, comes up to me and says, ‘Hey dips***, make your f***ing kicks!’ And kicks me in the leg,” Lambo went onto reveal.
“If you ever speak to me like that again, you’ll be out of here. You’re the first player I’ve ever let speak to me that way in my career, and if you do it again, you’re gone,” said Lambo as he spoke about how Meyer had spoken to him when he had brought up the incident.
