In their final match of Group B at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri, Odisha FC overcame a deficit to defeat Hyderabad FC 2-1 and secure their place in the Hero Indian Super Cup semi-final. Hyderabad FC took the lead in the match in the first half thanks to a goal from Javier Siverio, but Odisha rallied with goals from Diego Mauricio and Victor Rodriguez in the second half.
After a four-year hiatus, the much anticipated Super Cup returned on April 8, 2023. According to the official schedule, April 8 through April 19 is designated as group stage, and April 21 & 22 are designated as semi-finals. Of the 16 teams, RoundGlass Punjab, the defending I-League winners, and 11 Indian Super League (ISL) clubs made it directly from the main draw, while the other four teams—Sreenidi Deccan, Aizawl FC, Gokulam Kerala, & Churchill Brothers—had to go through the qualifications.
