Recap of Episode 3 for Hell’s Paradise
The third episode of Hell’s Paradise, titled “Weakness and Strength,” began with Gabimaru telling Sagiri that he thinks Paradise Island is strange despite his belief that the Elixir of Life is true. He describes how he once witnessed the chief of Iwagakure withstand a number of lethal attacks and how it was said that he had ingested the Elixir.
When Gabimaru unties himself from the ropes holding them together, Sagiri objects, saying that they haven’t been provided enough food or water for the journey. Before they can find a solution, Warped Keiun, a huge criminal monk who threatens to use all of his weapons on The Hollow, attacks Gabimaru.
Keiun is defeated by Gabimaru despite having his hands bound together, and the Asaemon then slices off his head before sailing back to the ship and warns Sagiri to exercise caution about Gabimaru.
At the same moment, we witness a brief montage of Asaemon and various criminals being executed over the island, some by their executioners and some by their own hands.
The Hollow eventually has the upper hand in the fight between Sagiri and Gabimaru, but collapses emotionally before striking the decisive blow. Despite their understandable shock, the two decide to support one another during the voyage.
As huge monsters start to emerge in front of the remaining expedition members, criminal Gantetsusai and his Asaemon are encircled by nightmare human-insect hybrids somewhere on the island.
