The 2023 spring anime schedule has begun, with a number of fresh and intriguing episodes airing globally. Among these is Heavenly Delusion, whose first episode had elements of both The Promised Neverland and The Last of Us.

Production I.G. (Attack on Titan S1-3, Vinland Saga S1, and Psycho-Pass) has adapted Masakazu Ishiguro’s original manga series into the sci-fi adventure mystery anime Heavenly Delusion.

One group is enclosed inside gigantic walls, and the other roams a barren post-apocalyptic Tokyo.

A group of kids are housed and educated inside the walls by highly developed AI robots. While some of the gang are happy with their laid-back existence inside these confines, two kids are interested in what life is like outside these boundaries.

The few people and robots in the contained nursery send a mysterious message to a young girl named Tokio one day, asking, “Do you wish to go outside?” This is something that is strictly forbidden.

A boy named Maru and a girl named Kiruko are traversing the ruins of Tokyo outside the walls. Maru has been instructed to defend Kiruko at all costs while they look for “Heaven,” although they are struggling to find food and shelter from the creatures that prowl the area.

Where Can You Watch Heavenly Delusion Online?

Contrary to what many fans may have heard online, Disney Plus’s simulcast service, Heavenly Delusion, does indeed offer streaming access.

To find the anime on Disney Plus, viewers must enter the Japanese title of the show, “Tengoku Daimakyo,” for it to come up in the search results.

Given that this information was conspicuously missing from a large portion of the initial advertising materials, it is understandable why this has led to some serious criticism of both Disney Plus and the anime series’ marketing team.

Heavenly Delusion is also accessible on the Hulu platform for viewers in the US.

Reuben Lack, senior manager for English anime dubs at Disney Plus, wrote on Twitter that while there was a one-day delay for the anime on Hulu, this would be fixed by episode 2 for regular simulcast streaming.
