Franco Harris was an American professional football player and is widely regarded as one of the best running backs who mostly played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in his career. For 13 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), he was chosen for the Pro Bowl nine times and helped the Steelers win four Super Bowls. He had a significant role in one of the most well-known plays in NFL’s history, the “Immaculate Reception,” which earned the Steelers its first-ever playoff victory.

Career

Franco Harris began his professional football career as a player for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was chosen 13th overall by the Steelers in the first round of the 1972 NFL Draft. He spent his first 12 seasons in the NFL with the Steelers and joined the Seahawks for his 13th and final season. Franco Harris won four Super Bowls with the Steelers and was a nine-time Super Bowl MVP during his NFL career. In 1990 he was included in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
