Chelsea won three of their last six in the Premier League, losing the others, with Brighton and Tottenham the only top half teams they’ve beaten in 12 attempts but Pochettino hasn’t been sacked as of yet despite the odds slashing for Jose Mourinho to replace himat 2/1.
Matheus Cunha’s hat-trick for Wolves stunned Chelsea, sending the Blues to the lower part of the Premier League standings. In the 19th minute, Cole Palmer gave Mauricio Pochettino’s squad the lead with a simple touch past Jose Sa following a defence-splitting pass from Moises Caicedo. However, Cunha’s shot took a major deflection off of Thiago Silva and caught Djordje Petrovic off guard, resulting in a point for the Wolves less than three minutes later. Rayan Ait-Nouri met Pedro Neto’s cutback just before halftime, deflecting the ball off Axel Disasi to complete the comeback.

As the halfway whistle blew, the home crowd erupted in jeers, but Chelsea was unable to rally and fell behind two goals when the incredibly quick Neto beat Silva and found Cunha for his second. Malo Gusto brought the Brazilian down, and he scored his hat-trick from the penalty spot. He made sure the result was certain with eight minutes remaining by sending Petrovic the wrong way, but Silva headed in a late consolation. Gary O’Neil’s Wolves club moved up to 10th place after 23 games, one point and one spot ahead of Chelsea, thanks to their well-earned victory.
Nothing is going right for Pochettino and his team
The visiting Wolves supporters made fun of Mauricio Pochettino after Chelsea squandered a 1-0 lead at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. The Blues had withstood a furious opening period from their opponents, leading through Cole Palmer, but the team’s encouraging home form swiftly turned against them.
To Pochettino’s dismay, Chelsea trailed 2-1 at halftime after goals from Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha were deflected. To make matters worse, the latter was revealed as an own goal by Axel Disasi.
Chelsea’s supporters were extremely irate after the team suffered a devastating 4-1 loss to Liverpool in the middle of the week. At halftime, the SW6 crowd loudly expressed their fury by booing them off. Pochettino has had this kind of treatment before this season. As Wolves supporters rejoiced at the turnaround with yells of “You’re getting sacked in the morning,” things worsened for the Argentine as well.
Thiago Silva gave Chelsea a late rally, but Wolves’ second-half performance saw them go up 4-1 at one point. His team was also heckled as they left the pitch. Graham Potter was fired less than a year later, and some admirers appeared to have turned again.
