Harshal Patel was born in Sanand, Gujarat, India on 23rd November 1990 and is currently 31 years. His father’s name is Vikram Patel, who works with Prime Flight Aviation and his mother is Darshna Patel, who works with Dunkin Donuts. He has a brother named Tapan Patel, who helped him to remain in India while the rest of family shifted to USA.
His younger sister Archita Patel who was in her late 20s recently died from a prolonged illness.
In the 2008-09 Under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy, Patel, a right-arm seamer with an effective slower ball, collected 23 wickets at an amazing average. Harshal went to Haryana after being overlooked by the Gujarat selection for the first-class squad. In his maiden Ranji Trophy season in 2011-12, he made an immediate impression, running past Karnataka and Rajasthan with consecutive eight-fors in the quarter-final and semi-final.
He was picked in India’s Twenty20 International (T20I) team for their series against New Zealand in November 2021. On November 19, 2021, he made his T20I debut for India against New Zealand. He was named player of the match after taking two wickets. He followed that up with another two-wicket haul to finish the series with four wickets in two appearances. Patel was purchased by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for 10.75 crores in the 2022 IPL auction.

Patel became the third bowler after Praveen Kumar and Samuel Badree for Royal Challengers Bangalore to take a hat-trick on September 26, 2021, against Mumbai Indians, capturing the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, and Rahul Chahar for 4/17 in 3.1 overs. Harshal was named as one of eight net bowlers for India’s national cricket team for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup on October 13, 2021.
Patel had 32 wickets towards the end of the IPL 2021 season, which tied him with Dwayne Bravo for the most Indian wickets in a single season.
