Early Years
Harsha Bhogle is the son of A. D. Bhogle, a French language professor, and Shalini Bhogle, a psychology professor. He went to Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet and later graduated from Osmania University’s College of Technology in Hyderabad with a B.Tech. in chemical engineering. Later on earned his master’s degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management in Ahmedabad. He then went to work for two years at an advertising agency before returning for another two years.
Personal Life
Bhogle is married to Anita, an IIM-A classmate, and the pair has two children, Chinmay and Satchit, who live in Mumbai. Prosearch is a sports-based communication firm run by the pair.
Career
During India’s cricket series against Australia before the 1992 Cricket World Cup, Bhogle became the first Indian pundit to be asked by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Since then, he’s worked for ABC Radio Grandstand during India’s Australian tours, and for the BBC as part of their commentary crew for the 1996 and 1999 Cricket World Cups for eight years.
For a few seasons, he was part of the STAR Sports commentary crew, which comprised Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar, and Alan Wilkins, as well as Geoff Boycott and Navjot Singh Sidhu, and later, Ian Chappell and Sanjay Manjrekar.
In Australia, he covered the 2011–12 series exclusively on ABC Radio. Bhogle has been covering all Indian Premier League seasons since 2009.
For ESPN and Star Sports, he has hosted shows like Harsha Online, Harsha Unplugged, and School Quiz Olympiad.”Harsha ki khoj” (“Quest for Harsha”), a television show dedicated to finding broadcasting talent in India, was named after Bhogle.
He grew his internet presence by hosting the YouTube show Out of the Box with Harsha Bhogle. In a worldwide poll, Cricinfo users chose Bhogle as their favourite TV cricket analyst.
He has also hosted the Business Today Acumen Business Quiz and Debate contests and the BBC’s travel series Travel India. Since 2016, he has worked for Times Group subsidiary Cricbuzz, where he publishes articles and conducts video analysis.

He and his wife, Anita Bhogle, wrote the books The Winning Way and The Winning Way 2.0, which are based on business skills gained through sports. In addition, he has written a biography of Mohammad Azharuddin. Out of the Box is a book that contains a selection of his essays.
