Hamish Kilgour The Clean Founder Cause Of Death, Age, Family, Songs And Albums List

New Zealand-based Musician and Co-founder of the indie rock band ‘The Clean,’ Hamish Kilgour, was found dead in Christchurch on Monday evening, December 5, know his cause of death

As per the local media, the music pioneer was last seen alive at a shopping centre, The Palms in Christchurch on November 27, 2022. The musician was reported missing by his family on December 1, 2022.

On Tuesday, December 6, authorities declared they found his dead body. As per the police, the investigation in the case is ongoing.

After learning the tragic news of the 65-year-old’s death, his close friend, Kat Zolita Mason, took to social media and expressed her sadness.

Mason penned down, “He was just so funny and lovely. He was a genius in his own way, really.”

Who was Hamish Kilgour?

For those who are unfamiliar with Hamish Kilgour, let us tell you, the musician was born in Christchurch, New Zealand, on March 17, 1957.

Kilgour was best known as the co-founder of the rock band The Clean which he founded in 1978 with his brother David Kilgour. Their band released a single titled Tally Ho in 1981 which was quite popular of its time.

Their single grabbed so much attention that it managed to top the number 19 in Charts. Their another release five-track titled ‘EP Boodle Boodle Boodle,’ has managed to grab the number 5 in the charts.

Let us remind you, after The Clean broke up, Kilgour relocated to New York City in the early 1990s, where the songwriter formed another band named The Mad Scene with guitarist and bassist Lisa Siegel.

Their band ‘The Mad Scene,’ dropped an album in 1992 titled Ep Falling Over, Spilling Over, with indie label Homestead Records. The band released its second album in 1996.

The musician released his first debut solo album titled ‘All of It and Nothing,’ on September 16, 2014 with Ba Da Bing Records.

In 2017, the song-writer was inducted into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.
