It is no secret that Haas F1 has taken a major financial hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was one of primary reasons why Haas F1 dropped their seasonal drivers Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen for rookies Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin.

According to Forbes, Haas F1 had a net worth of $ 115 Million. Whereas their revenues were $ 105 Million and operating income were -$28 Million before the start of the pandemic.

Haas Formula LLC, competing has Uralkali Haas F1 Team is an American Formula One racing team which was established by NASCAR Cup Series team co-owner Gene Haas. The Team Principle is Guenther Steiner. The team originally had to make their debut in the 105 edition but due to certain delays, it made its F1 debut in 2016.

But given the latest coronavirus crisis being forged upon all the F1 teams, Gene Haas has reportedly stopped investing in Haas since last year and is planning to pull out of the F1 project, selling the team off to Russian businessman, Dimitry Mazepin.

The latter is the father of Haas rookie driver Nikita Mazepin. The Haas car already features major sponsorships and branding from Mazepin’s Uralkali and almost has the same colors of the Russian flag.

Dimitry Mazepin had earlier tried to buy out Force India Team and now could be the case wherein his long-term desire could turn into reality. Gene Haas back in the start of the 2020 season that he will reevaluate at the end of 5 years in the sport.

He also mentioned that his next step will be based on the team’s result in the 2020 season, in which they team did not perform well courtesy of a week Ferrari engine.

Lastly in the Netflix documentary, ‘Drive to Survive’ Team Principal Guenther Steiner could be seen procuring sponsorships for the survival of Haas F1 as Gene Haas had refused to infuse more funding to the team. The team’s new title sponsor for the 2021 season is Uralkali, the company owned by Mazespin’s father.
