Pranati Nayak was born on April 6, 1995, in Jhargam, West Bengal, India. She hails from a humble background, with her father, Sumanta Nayak, working as a bus driver.

While information about her mother Pratima Devi is limited it was reported that she started to work to help the family financially during the tough times. Pranati’s family consists of her parents and two sisters, Jayati and Tapti. 

Her journey to becoming an elite gymnast was not paved with gold; rather, it was her unwavering determination and the support of her family that propelled her forward.

Pranati Nayak has etched her name in history. In 2019, she achieved a significant milestone by winning a bronze medal in the Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. 

What sets Pranati apart is her proficiency in vaulting, a discipline in which India had already witnessed success with gymnasts like Dipa Karmakar and Aruna Reddy. Pranati Nayak emerged as India’s third major vaulting medalist in World Championships
