Who Is Ja Morant?
Ja Morant is an American professional basketball player for the National Basketball Association’s Memphis Grizzlies (NBA). He played college basketball for the Murray State Racers. As a sophomore in 2019, he was unanimously named to the first team of All-Americans.
Morant was born to Tee and Jamie Morant in Dalzell, South Carolina. His mother was a point guard in high school and a softball player in college. His father played basketball for Claflin University and was on the same high school team as Ray Allen. Tee thought about playing pro ball overseas after he had played semi-professionally. But when Jamie found out she was pregnant with Ja, he quit basketball and became a barber instead.
