The Japanese manga series, Grand Blue first came out in 2014. The popular manga series is written and illustrated by Kenji Inoue and Kimitake Yoshioka respectively.
Grand Blue’s English translation is available digitally by Kodansha USA under the Kodansha Comics imprint. It is wildly popular and the comic was also adapted into an anime show, “Zero-g” in 2018.

Grand Blue Plot
Grand Blue is the story of a college student who spends a year in the seaside town of Izu with his classmates, having fun on the beach.
The official synopsis of the show reads, “Iori Kitahara looks forward to his new life on the Izu Peninsula as he prepares to start his college life there, staying in a room above his uncle’s diving shop “Grand Blue.”
“However, he is quickly shocked as he meets the local Diving Club, a group full of buff men who spend more time drinking, partying, and stripping naked than actually diving. Despite his attempts to distance himself from the group, Iori gets quickly swept up in their antics, while his cousins try to show him the wonders of diving into the ocean and sea.”

In the last chapter, Sakurako made the decision to pursue Chisa after learning that he and Iori were divorcing. She went into their dive club to approach Iori. But he didn’t appear very eager to hear what she had to say. He declined to go on a date with him since he was preoccupied with running the shop, despite Sakurako’s best efforts.
Sakurako first didn’t like it and begged him to join her, but after repeated denials, she made the decision to work alongside him. Together, they assisted in running the shop, and subsequently, Sakurako asked him out on a date.
Soon after, Aina came up to him and informed him of their plans. It enraged Sakurako. They clashed about Iori. Later in the evening, Sakurako and Aina engaged in a game of rock, paper, and scissors. But she made the choice to let Aina go with Iori, promising to take him out on a date the following week.
