Google Stadia is apparently shutting after the popular gaming service recently announcing a streaming end date set for next year, which means it will luckily not affect customers in 2022, know how will the refund work
In recent years, cloud gaming services have become popular with various companies making many attempts to start cracking the market.

The race is on for different companies to build the first successful cloud gaming service model.
And the company that succeeds in building one will have the best chance to expand onto devices that usually not native to AAA gaming. It will do this while avoiding the hardware and research costs associated with consoles.
However, Google has confirmed that they will pull the plug on Stadia by releasing a final end date.
Google Stadia Shutting Down
Google Stadia is shutting down, after Google confirmed the final date for the video game service as January 18, 2023.
The popular search engine company confirmed that players will continue to have access to their games library until this date. This will provide players with the chance to complete final play sessions.
The company also stated that they are planning refunds for Stadia hardware purchased through the dedicated Google Store. The refund will also cover all games and add-ons bought from the Google Stadia store.
Google stated a message explaining the process of refunds to fans:
“We will be offering refunds for all Stadia hardware purchases (Stadia Controller, Founders Edition, Premiere Edition, and Play and Watch with Google TV packages) made through the Google Store and software transactions (games and add-on purchases) through the Stadia store. Stadia Pro subscriptions are not eligible for refund, however, you will be able to continue playing your games in Pro without further charges until the final wind-down date.
“We are working through this process now and will keep this article updated as we define the process for each of the countries and different situations. Our intent is to have the majority of refunds processed back to the original payment by January 18, 2023.”
No Refund for Stadia Pro subscriptions
While Google will issue refunds to fans, they confirmed that they would not be refunding Stadia Pro subscriptions.
However, players who held an active Stadia Pro subscription as of September 29, 2022 will not be charged for access to their Pro library or other subscription entitlements during the shut-down period.
