Patrick Nathaniel Reed is an American professional golfer who was born in San Antonio, Texas on 5 August 1990 to parents Reed Bill Reed, and Jeannette Reed. He graduated from the University High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Before his professional career, he won the 2006 Junior Open Championship, and also qualified for the U.S. Amateur in 2007.

Reed helped lead Augusta State to the NCAA Division I titles back in 2010 and 2011. He then turned professional and played his first PGA Tour event, the FedEx St. Jude Classic in June 2011. Reed went on to play across 12 events on the PGA Tour on sponsor’s exemptions.
He also set the PGA Tour record for most strokes under par with 54 holes at the 2014 Humana Challenge. The following year on January 12 Reed won his fourth PGA Tour title at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions. Reed won the first ever FedEx Cup playoff event in 2016.
