As per various reports, American professional golfer and open champion Tom passed away at his home in Big Sky, Montana on Aug 20, 2022 at the age of 79.
He reportedly died after fighting a long battle with pancreatic cancer. The former player was previously diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2020.
He was one of the greatest golf players of all time. Tom is survived by his second wife, Laurie Weiskopf, his daughter Heidi Weiskopf, and two grandchildren Hunter and Morgan.
Who was Tom Weiskopf?
Tom Weiskopf was born in Massillon, Ohio, on November 9, 1942. He started playing golf in high school. His net worth stood at $1.5 million.
Tom had attended Benedictine High School in Cleveland, and Ohio State University, where he used to play golf at the time.
Later he turned his habit into a professional career in 1964. He played on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour.
His first victory on the PGA Tour came at the Andy Williams-San Diego Open Invitational in 1968. The most successful and peak time of his career in golf was the 1970s.
Throughout his career as a golfer, he has won a total of 16 PGA Tour titles between 1968 to 1982, including the 1973 Open Championship.
Later, he joined the Senior PGA Tour in 1993, and then he went on to win several tournaments including 1995 U.S. Senior Open.
After that he retired as a player and started working as golf analyst for CBS Sports covering the 1981 and 1985 to 1995 Masters. He got married to Laurie Weiskopf and previously he got married to Jeanne Weiskopf in 1966.

After learning the tragic news of pro golfers’ death, his fans and friends flooded the social media with Tributes.
His friend Tom Watson took to Twitter to mourn the loss of Weiskopf. He penned down, “I send my deepest sympathies to the family of Tom Weiskopf.”
His fellow, Skip Bayless took to his Twitter and wrote, “RIP Tom Weiskopf. I once played the back nine at Jupiter Hills with him.”
