The ten Premier League players on the Golden Boy 2022 shortlist include Amad and Harvey Elliott, know the football award voting rules, format and nominees
On the 100-player shortlist, 10 Premier League young players have been picked, including two each from Liverpool, Manchester United, and Wolves.

The 2022 Golden Boy award shortlist includes ten Premier League players, including Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott and Manchester United forward Amad.
Since 2003, the Golden Boy award has been given to Europe’s best kid under the age of 21 for a calendar year. Pedri, a Barcelona midfielder who has been nominated for the award again this year, won it last year, and previous winners include Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Wayne Rooney.
Elliott is joined on the 100-player shortlist by his new teammate Fabio Carvalho, who joined Liverpool this summer from Fulham. United is represented on the shortlist by two players: Amad, who has returned after a loan spell with Rangers, and Sweden’s international attacker Anthony Elanga.
Wolves have two players on the shortlist, with Portuguese attacker Fabio Silva and Dutch Under-21 international defender Ki-Jana However joining from Liverpool two years ago as part of the Diogo Jota transfer.
Yan Couto, a Brazilian full-back who has yet to play a professional game for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City and was most recently on loan at Portuguese side Braga, is on the shortlist.
Neither Chelsea nor Arsenal are in contention. Chelsea and Arsenal are not included on the shortlist.
New Tottenham signing Pape Matar Sarr, who joined the club last summer but spent the season with Ligue 1 side Metz, is also included, as is Brighton’s Polish midfielder Kacper Kozlowski. The 18-year-old had been farmed out to Union SG after joining the Seagulls from Pogo Szczecin earlier this year. Joe Gelhardt of Leeds, who scored twice in 14 Premier League games last season, is also in the running. a member of the shortlist
The winner of the award is determined by a vote and each voter will allocate 10 points to the player they deem most impressive, with 7 for second, 5 for third, 3 for fourth and 1 for fifth. Voters will be sports journalists from a host of well-respected newspapers, including Bild (Germany), lโEquipe (France) and Marca (Spain).
While a reveal date hasn’t been announced yet, it looks likey to be October or November of 2022.
