Godfather, one of the much-anticipated movies starring Tollywood megastar Chiranjeevi, was released on Dusshera. The movie was made under the direction of Mohan Raja, who is known for hit movies like Something Something…, Unakkum Enakkum and Santosh Subramaniam.

The movie billed as a political thriller is a Telugu adaptation of the 2019 superstar Mohanlal film Lucifer, which surpassed all previous box office records and is presently the highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time. The total lifetime earnings for Lucifer are Rs. 175 crore.
Beginning in August 2021, Hyderabad, Ooty, and Mumbai were used to film the Godfather. After a successful theatrical run, the movie is now ready for its internet premiere.

Since Chiranjeevi and Salman are starring together, the film has extremely high expectations for it. It is produced by Ram Charan, and R B Choudhary, under the auspices of Konidela Production Company and Super Good Films.
It was theatrically released on October 5, 2022, coinciding with the Telugu and Hindi dub versions of the Vijayadashami or Dussehra celebration. In terms of post-theatrical streaming rights, the movie is highly sought after by OTT goliaths.
In fact, Netflix, a well-known streaming service, purchased the digital rights to it. It is known that the platform paid a staggering Rs. 57 crores to purchase the rights. The movie’s OTT rights in Telugu and Hindi are included in this agreement.
