Santa Monica Studio has unveiled the long awaited God of War Ragnarök New Game+ option.

To activate the mode that lets users carry over gained items and abilities into a later playthrough, players must complete the game once on any difficulty level.

However, some main story questlines must be completed in order to get access to Sonic and Hex arrows at the start of the game.
In the upcomimg God of War Ragnarök update which was released on 5 April, 2023, players starting New Game+ will discover new equipment and enchantments.
Along with the well-known black bear cloak from the game’s opening scene, a perk that grants last-second evades with a barrage of Bifröst shards will be included.
In the NG+ run, players will have the “Armor of the Black Bear.” For a more difficult gaming experience, the “Spartan Armor” is also available. It has no perks or stats and is locked at level 1 attributes.
Ares and Zeus armor, which debuted in the 2018 God of War, are back. The former may drop a healing stone upon hit, while the latter considerably increases melee and runic damage.
The Spartan Aspis shield, which has a tighter parry window, can now be purchased, and players can also select the colour of their Level 9+ armor, among other options.
The level cap has been raised, along with other New Game+ modes, and Kratos and his enemies will be stronger than before.
Weapons that have already been obtained can now be upgraded to “Plus” versions, which has stronger effects and yields Gilded Coins that can be used to buy new enchantments from the game’s in-game shops.
Enchantments can be added to any set of armour to provide the wearer particular fighting benefits. Players can add unfavourable benefits for a more challenging battle with the new “Burdens” set, such as automatically slowing down Kratos when evading with the Frost state effect.
Two of the new features that God of War Ragnarök’s most recent update brings to its New Game+ mode are the Spartan Armor and the much-desired black bear coat.
Players can also customize and match the colour of their armour and purchase the Spartan Aspis shield.
You can now upgrade weapons to their “Plus” variants for stronger effects, and the level maximum has been raised. Gaining Gilded Coins through this allows you to purchase new enchantments.
Additionally, a black-and-white render mode has been added, and the Niflheim sparring arena has been expanded. Cinematics can be skipped in the NG+ mode, and Nornir Chests now contain Yggdrasil Dew for stat improvements.
