With his brilliant 126 not out off 63 balls against the Black Caps, the stylish opener passed Virat Kohli to hold the record for the highest T20I score by an Indian with a girl imploring Tinder to match her with Shubman Gill now viral on Twitter
Shubman Gill has set records after records.
Shubman, who is 23 years and 146 days old, is now the youngest male cricketer to have scored hundreds in all three game formats. The opener also joins the elite group of Indian veterans who have scored hundreds in all competitions. Before him, KL Rahul, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli were the only other Indians to accomplish the feat. Gill has surpassed Suresh Raina’s previous record of 23 years and 156 days to become the youngest Indian batsman to get a T20I hundred.

As if that weren’t impressive enough, Shubman Gill surpassed Virat Kohli to become the highest score by an Indian in T20Is. At the Asia Cup in September of last year, the former India skipper defeated Afghanistan with a fantastic 122 off 61 balls.
Match highlights: India secures its highest-ever win in t-20i history.
The youthful player got off to a good start, as he started his innings by hammering a few boundaries. However, Rahul Tripathi and Suryakumar Yadav made sure of an all-out attack on the New Zealand bowlers with blistering scores of 44 off 22 and 24 off 13 balls, respectively.
Before blasting two more sixes against Blair Tickner to enter the nineties, Gill hit back-to-back sixes against Benjamin Lister. With a strong cover drive off Lockie Ferguson, he reached his first T20I century. He then scored another 17 runs in the 19th over to push India over the 200-run threshold. In the end, The Men in Blue scored a staggering 234/4.
Since they lost their openers in the first two overs and half of their side during the first powerplay, New Zealand never appeared to be a threat during the run chase. Then, with a huge margin of 168 runs, Hardik Pandya and his team bowled them out for 66 to record their highest victory in T20Is.
Shubman has silenced his critics.
Gautam Gambhir, who won the 2011 World Cup, criticised Gill for his mistakes in the series’ first two games. Earlier, the opener only managed to score seven off six balls and eleven off nine deliveries in Ranchi and Lucknow, respectively.
Furthermore, Gautam Gambhir requested that the Indian think tank, which included captain Hardik Pandya and head coach Rahul Dravid, withdraw Shubman Gill from the starting lineup in T20Is with the explosive Prithvi Shaw warming the bench. Moreover, the veteran asserted that Gill’s natural game isn’t suited to T20s, thus it would be more fitting to try Prithvi Shaw in the format.
However, Gill showed that he could play in the sport’s shortest format with his scorching hit against the Black Caps in Gujarat. He just added another accomplishment to his résumé with his first T20I century against the Kiwis.
