Most fans will be asking why the shirt was worn and what it meant. It was worn to pay a heartfelt honour to Chelsea Woman boss Emma Hayes.

The words “Get Well Soon Emma” were visible on the back of the warm-up shirts worn by Chelsea FC players against Aston Villa and Everton. The jerseys were worn to show respect for Chelsea Women’s manager Emma Hayes. Due to her long endometriosis fight, the 45-year-old Hyes said last week that she will be absent from the sidelines for the foreseeable future. As a result of endometriosis, she underwent an emergency hysterectomy.

I know you’ll understand that my health comes first and that right now I need to put taking care of myself first.
“I fully anticipate making a good recovery and I am looking forward to seeing you soon.”
