Laurence Fox was quick to lambast players taking the knee in the Premier League as news of Benjamin Mendy getting arrested came in
As Benjamin Mendy was arrested on Thursday by the Cheshire Police on four counts of rape the general consensus was against the French footballer.
Given the magnitude of the allegations, Manchester City were to suspend the leftback whose services they had acquired for a staggering 52 million pounds back in 2017. And a string of the club’s supporters were left livid with the defender as well with no one able to come out in support of the untenable act.
Actor Laurence Fox was amongst the plethora of people who lashed out at Mendy with the actor left seething with the 27 year old. However, Fox decided to use Mendy’s rape charges as a means to belittle the Black Lives Matter movement as he took to Twitter to hit out at the tradition of kneeling before matches in the Premier League.
Laurence Fox Takes A Swipe At BLM Movement After Benjamin Mendy Was Arrested
Fox wrote, “Get kneeling f****rs,” on Twitter, a tweet which was a direct jibe at the color of Mendy’s skin. Over the last string of seasons, the Premier League has decided to show its support to the anti-racism cause by getting footballers to kneel on the pitch prior to encounters.

Fox has over the years gone onto lambast the gesture with him calling it mere politics and symbolism and nothing which really tackled the issue at hand. He followed up the tweet with all lives matter as he continued to lash out at the movement.
Whilst Fox’s tweet ruffled up feathers, the point he makes can’t be taken away. The 43 year old actor has rightfully called out the appalling silence over the mayhem which erupted during the BLM movement with its supporters ransacking shops and setting a string of establishments on fire.
And unlike the boisterous coverage of BLM, there’s been an abject silence from the English media over the atrocities being carried out by the Taliban in Afghanistan and the Sharia law they have inducted.
