23-years-old George Russell will partner with 7-time Formula 1 Champion Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes AMG Petronas garage. Former 2018 F2 champion, Russell signed for Williams the following year in a multi-year deal.
Since joining Williams in 2019, the Briton has featured in 51 Grand Prix’s securing a podium finish in the rain-soaked Belgium. He scored his first points for Williams at the Hungaroring and was very emotional after the race.
George Russell filled in for Lewis Hamilton in the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix and performed exceptionally well. Despite, leading the race for the majority of time, he was robbed of a podium finish by a fumble in the pit lane by Mercedes.
